Jack + Emma

Stunning sea views and festival vibes. That is what Jack and Emma’s wedding was all about! Having met in University just over 10 years ago and living in Leicestershire, their love of the outdoors and walking led Emma and Jack to move down to Cornwall with their dog Wilma. Knowing this about them, it is clear as to why they chose to have their wedding at Caerhayes. With the panoramic sea views, amongst small Cornish villages, this place was absolutely perfect for them.

Emma was getting ready at The Vean, a beautiful house just 5 minutes away from the venue. You can see in our trailer that the house is surrounded by acres of green luscious fields and woodland, yet only a short trip away from the coast. In the meantime, Jack had gotten ready at their home and made his way to the quaint venue for the service. Jack and Emma were having their ceremony in ‘The Coastguard’s Lookout‘ a small, stone hut, situated on the clifftops at Caerhayes. This was such a beautiful and intimate setting to exchange vows and become husband and wife. With the hut being quite small there were some deck chairs outside of the venue for some of the guests to sit and watch the service from; this relaxed atmosphere was carried on through the day.JE3 169x300 - Caerhayes Wedding Film

The ceremony was heartfelt and intimate, with personal vows and readings from close friends and family. Once the service had concluded, everyone congregated outside of the hut to sing ‘Lovely Day’ by Bill Withers accompanied by the live acoustic guitarist present.

The guests walked across the coast path, down to Porthluney Beach Meadow, where the rest of the day would be spent. Meanwhile Jack and Emma went for a drive in a vintage MG 2 seater classic car. The reception area was kitted out with a large 3 peaked tipi, a portable pizza van, cocktail bar, catering area, and plenty of games. It really felt like a festival with all these additions and the location, this made for some brilliant shots for the video!

As the day started to wind down and the sunset was looming, we took Emma and Jack away to a little corner of Caerhayes beach for a private couples shoot. As they made their was across the sand dunes through the warm and dimming sunlight we just knew that they were going to love the shots we were getting of them. We ended the shoot with them stood on the end of a stone wall jutting out into the sea, and looking out towards the sunset. This was such a fitting final shot for the couples shoot as it offered them a time of reflection on the day, and to have a moment with each other taking in the days events.

They had planned a very special first dance and entertainment for the evening. As Emma is a choral singer and Jack a guitarist, music is very important to them, so they arranged for Big Smoke Brass to play their first dance song (Sea of Love by Phil Philips). After this special rendition of the song they then kicked into some very upbeat songs getting everyone on the dance floor to dance the night away.

We had a great time filming Emma and Jack’s wedding day and are so pleased with the films, we cannot wait for the next festival themed wedding!
